Mixed Media Layout - Liquid Watercolors

Hello!!

Today I needed to do something for fun, to challenge myself... so I looked for a nice moodboard totally out of my comfort zone to work with, and I found that Cuts2luv has a beautiful one this month that includes red (that is a color I don't ever use) and marine theme... that is not my fort. And I decided to try and see what I could do.

Hola!!

I also wanted to try some of my new liquid watercolors form Avery Elle and the Mermaid Markers from Jane Davenport, that have been waiting in a drawer for a long time. So I tried to take as many of the elements of the moldboard as possible... let's see what is there.

I loved the scheme, so I tried my best to be true... I also liked the color palette and the other elements, although I didn't have any badge with an anchor, but quite a bunch of marine theme... that would match with the layout.

So I ripped and distressed two papers to place them in the background, and used matching papers to build the layout. I added lot of texture with light paste and a stencil of bubbles and colored it with liquid watercolors, just spraying water and letting some droplets move and blend.

I also stamped some scripts and jellyfishes to create more interest in the background, and then I started gluing the elements of the composition. I used some fussy cut images from the same paper collection, beautiful paper flowers, two beads from Cuts2luv, and transparent pebbles.

To finish the project, I splattered white ink all around the layout and glued some small pieces of cheese cloth and art stones. I added a little sticker "Summer is coming".
