Altered Embroidery Hoop (KORA Projects)

After a week off, I'm back with a new work. This time I've altered an embroidery hoop for KORA projects using Cozy Winter paper collection, which is absolutely perfect for this!

So I started selecting the papers I wanted to use, combining the deep blue in the top part with the clear woody in the bottom. As I wanted to place most of the elements around the photo and some few in the top, I used Lindy's sprays in blue to create a shimmery shadow.

To add texture and a wintery look, I used snowflake paste all around the hoop and beautiful embossing powders by Lindy's on the chipboards. I also used texture paste and embossing powders to create a little texture in the top part with the help of a stencil.

To build the composition, I used some of the fussy cutting pieces from Cozy Winter collection such as twigs, trunks and anise flowers. I cut more twigs from the scrap papers using a die and added fabulous handmade flowers (made by my friend Lena Foeng) which perfectly match.

For the last touches I splashed metallic paint and glued some confetti to make it look like falling snow. I also used the snowflake paste to add some few on top of the flowers and finally I added some stars I cut with dies.

The whole piece is a winter garden, full of natural elements. I'm very proud to say this piece was exhibited on Creativa Madrid, in the wonderful KORA projects stand, and it also appeared in the fair magazine with a little tutorial. Talking about tutorial... here you can follow the whole process, on my YouTube channel!
